Summary of Community Public Meeting with the Planning Commission on 10/23/07

In lieu of the normal MCC meeting, some members attended the 10/23/07 meeting of the Kitsap County Planning Commission meeting where a public hearing on the proposed changes to the Manchester Plan was held. The meeting was called to order in the Commissioners Chambers of the Kitsap County Admin Building at 6:30PM. Opening business unrelated to the plan was held and then Katrina Knutson (associate planner from DCD) spoke on the Plan changes. Katrina said that the proposed changes to the Goals and Policies were primarily directed at clarifying language from the original Plan. At this point there is a draft Plan available. Public comment via email to Katrina will be accepted until the close of business on October 31, 2007. Deliberations with the Commissioners will be held at 9:00AM on 11/13/07.

Our next meeting of the MCC will be Tuesday 11/27 at 6:30-8:30PM in the Manchester Library.

Ron Rada and John Winslow will jointly develop an agenda for our next meeting for distribution with the reminder, several days before the meeting. At this point the tentative agenda includes election of officers for next year. If you have any additional items for the agenda, contact John Winslow prior to November 15.
