There was a
brief discussion of information on matters that transpired during the last 4
weeks while the Larsen’s were out of town.
Keri DesJardin was welcomed back after an
absence due to taking care of her mother-in-law. Peggy Warren was welcomed.
Bud announced
that he would read his rough draft on the mission statement for our group
that will be submitted and acted on at the time our 501C3 application is
adopted. Bob Edwards offered to review
the draft and put it in to Robert’s Rules of Order form. The text is to be forwarded to Bob today, for
final wording.
There was a
discussion on the Main Street Storm water outfall project that has had several
news articles relating to it in the past weeks by Jeff McDonald of the Port
Orchard Independent. Bud has talked with
Mike Michael of Kitsap County Public Works and it appears they have not made an
effort to change or update the project as of this date. The county’s plan is to repair and/or replace
all outfall pipe in the downtown area and incoming
areas that require repair or replacement (Phase 2) prior to making further
decisions. There are a number of
questions that require specific answers.
Bud will be contacting both Puget Sound Action Committee and Puget Sound
Partnership Committee, who have expressed concern about any contaminated

we cannot endorse or support an initiative or a candidate.
It was noted that everyone should closely read the full text of
initiative 933, and compare to
It was
suggested that with the new Port resolutions not permitting swimming between
the North and South dock, it might be worthwhile to look in to a contained
swimming area South of the South floats, for safety
purposes. Question cost factors and
liability, definitely a subject to give considerable research.
A
brief conversation pertaining to permitting for Manchester Anchors (Hopkin’s project) and Colchester Commons (Palmer).
Bud reported that he has copies of each of the facilities hearing
examiner’s report. In the interests of
considerable misinformation floating around anyone interested is welcome to
review Bud’s copy’s or a copy of each has been left at
the Barber Shop.
