In that we felt it was prudent to wait and see what occurs at the August 7th meeting, to distribute petitions etc., the petitions we have prepared will not be submitted to the public until we learn the outcome of the Port Meeting on the 7th. A word of thanks to John Winslow for assisting us in preparation of the petitions themselves and the information outlines that relate to the entire project. If it is felt necessary, this information will be distributed at a later date.
Bud Larsen has had numerous
conversations with County, State, and Federal agency's
about the misleading information in the entire outfall proposal.

date conflict at the Library, there will be no Manchester Historical Society
meeting this week.

It was noted that only two responses have been received from Congressman Norm Dicks on the concerns of 137 citizens that signed a petition, and others, on the closure of the Manchester Fuel Farm Fire Department. The two letters were identical, and made it clear that there would be no change in their decision to close the facility. Both Congressman Dicks and the Navy indicate this is a cost saving procedure. They do not foresee any disastrous fire situations, etc.

We have received a response from Marita Trohimovich Pollard, engineer Kitsap CountyDept, of Community Development, as regards some of the questions that were submitted at our recent meeting with reprehensive from the Department. Information already gathered includes, Colchester Commons will have 70 parking spaces when only 54 are required. Manchester Commons (soon to be Manchester Anchors) will have 38 spaces where 24 spaces are required. Spruce House, opposite the side of the Post Office is a pre-application at this time. Only preliminary information available at this time. Regarding the plats on Puget Drive SUNRISE PLAT - under revision due to septic issues (Pending), Puget Highlands (17 lots) currently in review for SDAP (Site Development Activity Permit - for construction). Marita and staff will be visiting us again in a couple of months.
