New Neighborhood Watch Groups Now Being Formed!

PUGET DRIVE GROUPS

On Tuesday, January 10, 2006, there was a Neighborhood Watch program hosted by Joe and Mary Ann Blazevich.  The meeting was held at the Manchester Library.  Not only were there over 60 Manchester residents from Puget Drive and Puget Drive East, and others, but 45% of households in the area were also represented at the meeting.  Joe and Mary Ann have worked long and hard on getting everyone together to become involved in the Neighborhood Watch Program.  Most of you are familiar with our BLOCKWATCH program, nationwide the name is being changed to NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH to conform to what neighbors actual do for each other, when keeping an ever ALERT EYE on what is going on around them in the neighborhood, not just on their block.  Our group is changing the name and will continue our efforts to assist the law enforcement officers wherever and whenever we can.   Guest speakers were Deputy Pete Ball and his wife Deborah.  They had a dynamic presentation on the importance of neighborhood watches and the positive results they make in any community.  Joe has divided Puget Drive and Puget Drive East in to 10 or more potential watch areas, he already has Captains for most of them and this is outstanding.  Bud Larsen presented an assortment of maps that show boundary lines for not only Puget Drive and Puget Drive East, but also the Port of Manchester, Manchester Water District, Manchester Library, and Manchester itself.  The DATADOT security program was explained and their materials were handed out.  Deputy Ball presented the Blazevich's with a complimentary DATADOT security marking system from the company owners.  Very enthusiastic audience and just an outstanding program.  Kudos to Joe and MaryAnn for all their work.
