Bunny Hop!

This year's Bunny Hop was a huge success!!  It was a joint effort between the Library and the MCA, and at least 50 kids turned out for the festivities.  The Reading Rabbit was there, as well as Nikki & Juniper - the real-live tortoise and hare!  We had games, races, crafts and the Easter Egg Hunt outside in the tent.  The kids all won lots of prizes, had cupcakes and candy, and played for hours.  We made the best of a dreary, rainy day, and everyone had a great time.

Congratulations to Emilia Ruscigno for winning our guessing game!  There were 252 jelly beans in the bunny jar, and Emilia guessed 255 - way to go!

Food Drive for HelpLine

Thank you to everyone who brought canned goods to the Bunny Hop to donate to HelpLine!
We really appreciate your help in supporting this excellent organization in our community.

The MCA would like to thank everyone who helped us put on this event. Most of the prizes and refreshments were donated by the MCA board members and the Library, along with a generous donation from Bob Parks...  and thanks to Safeway for providing the cupcakes!

We depend on your donations to keep these events going. We need volunteers to help with the next events - the Salmon Bake in June and the Manchester Festival in August. Even if you can't help us with your time, prize donations are always greatly appreciated! Or just paying annual MCA membership dues is a big help. Please contact us at manchesterca@msn.com if you would like to donate or volunteer. Thanks for your support!

Salmon Bake

Sunday, June 19, 2005 ~ Father's Day

Manchester Festival

Saturday, August 13, 2005

The 36th Annual Salmon Bake will be brought to you by the Friends of the Library on Father's Day (as always).  This is the Library's biggest fund raiser of the year, and a great way to come out and spend some time with your Manchester neighbors.  The food is always delicious, and the MCA will again host a small carnival for the kids in the back of the parking lot.

All proceeds from the Salmon Bake go toward the operational expenses of the library, including utilities, building maintenance,  supplementary children's programs, etc.

The Manchester Festival is sponsored by the Manchester Community Association and held for the enjoyment of the community of Manchester and all of its guests and visitors.  Last year's festival was the best ever, with 36 booths, including local vendors, artists, craftspeople, and the usual assortment of games and activities for the kids.  We are looking forward to having as good a turnout for our 2005 event!

All proceeds from MCA booths go toward the production of this and other community events and activities held by the MCA during the year.
